These dinner rolls are the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Soft, buttery, and with a hint of savory salt, they’ll soak up the heartiest gravy without complaint.
Each Dinner Roll Mix Kit comes with enough ingredients to make 1 pan of 16 dinner rolls. For best results please watch our step by step video on how to make amazing Starry Lane Dinner Rolls.
1 Bag of Dinner Roll Flour Mix
1 Bag of Xanthan Gum/Corn Starch Mixture
Yields: 16 Dinner Rolls (2”x2”)

Needed Equipment
Stand Mixer /Hand Mixer (paddle attachment/ dough hooks)
Plastic Wrap
Fork or Whisk
9x9 Pan
Pastry Brush
Parchment Paper
Needed Ingredients
Granulated Sugar (C&H brand)
Warm Water
Yeast (active dry)
Hot water
Margarine (Earth Balance Soy Free Brand)
Olive Oil
Rice, Corn Starch, Tapioca, Millet, Potato, Plant Fiber (psyllium), Sugar, Salt, Emulsifier (poly-glycerol esters of fatty acids from vegetable fat, mono and diglycerides from plant origin), Ascorbic Acid, Xanthan Gum
Mix Xanthan Gum / Cornstarch
Whisk the provided xanthan gum & cornstarch packet with ½ cup very hot water.
Set aside for Step 3.
Activate the Yeast
In a separate bowl, mix 2¼ teaspoons dry active yeast and 3 tablespoons granulated sugar into 2 cups warm water (110°F is ideal).
Let rest for 15 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
Excited yeast is happy yeast!
Combine Liquids
Stir the xanthan/cornstarch mixture into the frothy yeast water.
Add the Flour Mix
Add the provided flour mix to the bowl.
Mix by hand with a spatula until a rough, sticky dough forms.
Then use a mixer on low speed for 1 minute, followed by medium speed for 2 minutes.
Use a paddle attachment (stand mixer) or dough hooks (hand mixer).
Note: The dough will be very sticky—that’s normal and necessary for soft rolls.
Let It Rise
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
Let the dough rest undisturbed for 20–30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Prep Your Pan
Cut two pieces of parchment paper to fit your baking pan, with extra length to hang over opposite sides.
Lay them in the pan in a crisscross pattern.
Oil Everything
Lightly oil your work surface and your hands.
This helps manage the extra-sticky dough.
Knead Gently
In the bowl, gently knead the dough for about 1 minute.
It’ll be sticky—don’t worry!
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough onto your oiled surface.
Gently pat it into a 6"x6" square.
Divide the Dough
Use a knife or pastry cutter to divide into 16 equal pieces (4 rows x 4 columns).
Roll & Place
Roll each piece into a ball.
Place them in the prepared baking pan in 4 rows of 4.
